ACT - Acheiving Compliance with Training
T.H.E. Medical’s training and educational program is clinically driven and provides the following in both initial and on-going support. Our training, education and access to our clinical resources are included with your equipment purchase and/or contract at no additional cost.
The ACT program will Achieve Compliance with Training, creating a safe lifting environment and reducing staff injuries.
ACT Approach
Super Users
- Selection process – Develop, scheduling, organizational templates.
- Key strategies for success – Presentation on understanding their role, safe patient handling overview and promoting compliance.
- Group education and team building – Atmosphere to create a culture of training techniques, exchange of ideas and gain a thorough understanding of the equipment.
- Product-specific competencies – Reverse demonstrations customized to the Super User’s unit-specific products. ACT Approach
Staff
- Centralized in-servicing – Equipment to be located for all to have the opportunity to see, learn, and become familiar with its use.
- Include all shifts, units, and departments – Variety of scheduling to include start and end times to ensure all staff receives exposure to equipment and company representatives.
- “Train the Trainer” approach – Assist in customizing a model that enables the Super Users to competency staff.
- Training times will vary according to the piece of equipment and on average last 15-30 minutes per equipment piece.
Follow-up
- Super Users and Staff – A walk-through of the facility to speak with Super Users, staff members and management to determine success of the program, followed by a report.
- 30-day, 90-day, and 120-day intervals thereafter.
- Visit intervals also include healthcare workers’ questionnaire, observation of safe patient handling tasks and review of injury data. ACT Approach
